Bok Choy Winter Vegetable Lg 6700602

Cellular Shopping

4

So there I am standing in a Whistler supermarket.  I turn down the international foods aisle or whatever they call it, and it is packed!  Oh.  Did I mention that this was Easter weekend?  As I worm and dodge my way down the crowded aisle, there are four, count ’em, FOUR different people on their cellular telephones and you could not help but eavesdrop on their conversations.  This time however, instead of the usual much unwanted nause being forced into my ear holes, the several conversations had to do with, “I’m standing in front of the macadamia nuts and . . . ” or, “But you told me to choose the lite brand and . . .”  and, “There are three types of pasta and I don’t know which one to choose . . .” and finally, “Dad says I should take this one, but I’m sure that YOU said . .. .”.

Now, you should know that I walked into the supermarket confident that I remembered what I had been instructed to purchase.  However, listening to those four conversations must’ve planted the seeds of doubt in my subconscious.  I knew it was something from the vegetable section.  I also knew that I didn’t particularly care for the taste of the item I was supposed to bring, but company was coming and one does have to make sacrifices.  Maybe I should just bring some ice cream home.  Everybody likes ice cream.  No.  That would just get me in deeper into the kaka.  So I did it.  I got out my cellular and made the call.  . . . Just as I figured, bring home some bok choy…

Oh Jim! That is so funny! When we’re having company for dinner, I have to do the shopping cuz Roy will just wing it. Even though I tell him: “if you aren’t sure just ask the nice (wo)man who works there to help you.”. But he doesn’t like to ask for help so heaven only knows what he’ll come home with. Guess he could learn to use the cell phone. That just amuses the hell out of me.

There’s this new technology coming out now… with a simple stylus, you transfer your data with simple hand writing. It’s called paper. If you use this BEFORE you go shopping, you can use this data retrieval system to save hours of time! Just rubbing it in! I ALWAYS forget something when shopping, and I’m usually the cook.

This thing called ‘stylus’, is it made by Apple? Otherwise, I just can’t use it . . .
